Biography
Mexican Painter, Born in Zacatecas on February 22, 1949.
Juan Angel Castillo B. has been a Baja Californian by adoption for more than 45 years.
Castillo started painting at the age of 4 years old. His talent has been considered as a born gift that he has had to perfect through many years of discipline and dedication.
His diverse techniques are distinguished and mixed pleasurably with apparent simplicity, but mastery and thought. Obvious in his portraits using outlines of figurative style, and seemingly untamed brush strokes, but when studied it all comes together.
Castillo has participated in multiple Collective and individual exhibitions in Mexico, United States, Canada, England, and Japan.
His art appears in prominent private collections, every painting he does is sold before it is done. In 1982, Castillo B. participated in the BBC of London, “Peace for the Nations” World Wide Art contest. They had millions of Artists entrees from 82 countries. In the end, only 26 Artists were chosen to participate in the finals. Remarkably, Castillo was the only Latin American Artist that
qualified to even participate for Mexico. 1st place went to India, 2nd to China, 3rd to India & 4th place went to Mexico, Juan Angel Castillo B.
